We are three professional cycling guides certified by the Italian Cycling Federation with a great passion for cycling and our territory. In 2021 we conceived and started up a cycling education program called “Chronò Young”, a completely free of costs, introductory course for urban and sport cycling, open to children from 7 to 14 years old. In 2022, together with Puccini Experience A.P.S., we designed and organized the first edition of the “Ciclo Classica Puccini”, a cultural cycling event where about 400 participants took part in.
Paladino Meschi
Paladino, a lifelong cyclist, since more than 30 years has been owning and managing Chronò, a sales and rental bike shop of all types of bicycles (urban, trekking, road and e-bike) in the historical city center of Lucca. Here you can find some of the best Italian cycling brands, including Pinarello, Cinelli, Guerciotti, Ganna, and sells cycling clothing made in Italy and Switzerland, as Santini and Assos.
His business has always stood out over the years for the passion with which it is carried out, following the concept of riding a bicycle as a means of living an experience: not surprisingly, over the years he has been leading the visitors of the Plain of Lucca during their bike rides, letting them experience the truest, most genuine side of our territory through unique experiences under a human, touristic and cycling point of view.
Pietro Scannavacca
Pietro, cyclist and bicycle mechanic since 7 years, has been working in Paladino’s business for 5 years now as a mechanic and guide. In 2018 he had a work experience in the Netherlands, working in the bike shops of Het Zwarte Fietsenplan, the main bike sale&rental business in Amsterdam. His love for his land brought him back to Lucca, where he is now continuing his career as a mechanic and cycling guide at Chronò, dedicating himself in his spare time to the implementation of initiatives and projects which deal with the world of cycling.
CARLO MESCHI
Carlo, born and raised in Lucca, Tuscany.
I have been working in Chronò since 2020, supporting my dad, Paladino, in the business he created and owns.
My main task is the logistic: replying to all emails, ordering new bikes and components and estimating quotes.
To be honest I do love riding a bike but it is not my passion: travel, music and languages have my heart.
I lived three months in San Francisco by myself, I play the piano and speak fluently English and Spanish.

English as we planned our trip from Australia to Lucca for 4 days of riding. He managed to answer all my questions comprehensively and provided a high level of confidence before travelling. Once there we were fitted out by Paladino (the Master) on some excellent Pinarello road bikes with all the gear we needed. The riding, including days to the coast via Pisa and Via Reggio were excellent and the bikes just magic. A small plug for my Hammerhead bike computer that provided hassle-free route planning and turn for turn GPS navigation. Fantastic service all round by the Chrono team – no wonder they have been in the business for 30 years – Excellent!!!!
We had such a phenomenal two days with Paladino! We rented e-bikes and did a wine and olive oil tasting. Paladino is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and an awesome local guide. “Amazing day with Paladino. We were staying in Florence and took the train to Lucca, met up at Chrono Bikes in Lucca and off we went on a 5 hour adventure into the hills of Tuscany outside of Lucca. Amazing scenery then stopped and did a great wine tour and lunch at Tenuta Adamo winery with equally impressive views. Bike ride was a blast and used e-bikes that helped with some of the challenging hills. An absolute 5 star experience and could not recommend
