The second formula that the Maestrod’olio Academy offers, also starts with a a theoretical introduction to the world of extra virgin olive oil, focusing on recognising scents and flavours, followed by a tasting of 3-4 oils, starting with a “commercial” one, and then move on to the tasting of the excellent oils from all around Italy. Usually, we try to introduce the tasters to a local olive oil, from farms based in Lucca, another oil from Tuscany and then one from another Italian region.
After the tasting, the Maestrod’olio offers a small round of appetizers to the guests, that includes some traditional appetizers from Tuscany, such as crostini with prosciutto crudo, pecorino cheese and some other local products, paired with the extra virgin olive oil.
The experience will include a tasting of 2 italian wines.
The appetizers will be followed by a first course; we usually cook some artisanal bronze-drawn pasta with some homemade sauce that we will make the same morning, with amazing basil scents and an extra virgin olive oil that the guests will be able to choose after the tasting. After the first course, we will serve a small dessert to the guests.
The full duration of this experience is of 2 ½ hours.
